Description
The SM309 Zigbee dimmer switch is an innovative AC phase-cut trailing edge Zigbee dimmer providing smoother dimming control. The SM309 dimmer is designed for 100-240VAC input and output, 1 channel and maximum 400W output. The innovative minimum brightness setting enables users to set a minimum allowed brightness and smoothly increase the brightness to 100%. The SM309 dimmer is compatible with Amazon Echo Plus/Echo Show 2nd Gen/Echo Studio, Philips Hue and Tuya-compatible ZigBee 3.0 gateways, and can be controlled by a ZigBee gateway interface, physical light switches or remote controllers that can be added to the Zigbee network and binded with the SM309 dimmer.
The SM309 dimmer switch can be linked to and controlled by max. 30 zigbee remotes that support zigbee light link through the touchlink. Also supports the new zigbee green power feature, and can binded with and controlled by up to 20 Zigbee green power remotes directly without zigbee hub or a gateway.
We strongly recommend that you engage a qualified electrician to perform any electrical works.
INSTALLATION:
1. Wire up the switch as per the enclosed diagram and place the device as close as possible to your Zigbee hub during the initial setup
2. Press the reset button 5 times to reset the switch and initiate the Touchlink connection. If you do not intend to reset the switch, press the button 4 times to initiate the Touchlink connection only.
3. Amazon Echo Plus/Echo Show 2nd Gen – Ask Alexa to discover new devices. Philips Hue – Add a new light through the Settings->Light Setup
4. Any other compatible Zigbee hub – follow your own hub’s instructions for adding new devices
When the dimmer is failing to connect to your compatible Zigbee hub. Ensure the dimmer has not been previously added to Zigbee Hub/Alexa/Hue app before repeating the initial procedure again. If the dimmer is already present in the devices list, please remove first.
Wired into dimmable GU10s in bedroom. Works with Phillips Hue App
Items are yet to be fitted but I am confident if I have any sort of issues Samotech will help.
I love these little guys. Rock solid, easy to wire and they do everything. I just keep buying more!
A bit fiddly to fit in the wall box, but once I cut the wires (fitted by the original wiring) it all went in very neatly.
They do the job I need them for, but are very expensive for what they are. ZigBee bulbs, even the pricey Hue ones are significantly cheaper.. If these were closer to the price of the bulbs, I would buy them instead if the bulbs.
My only technical gripe is that the external switch contact is not volt-free, it needs 8-220 volts to operate which is awkward. I would much rather they were dry contacts.
Great pieces of kit. So far all stable.
easy to connect to my existing Philips hue setup.
