Installing this WIFI dimmer is a walk in the park since it only requires two wires, not three. Its performance is commendable, and the old-fashioned design is a nice touch. Overall I am very happy with the dimmer.
This new switch is way better than the old non-smart one it replaced! No flickering with dimmable LED lamps and the dimming range is pretty good too.
Absolutely noiseless in compare with my old ones from B&Q, smart features are huge bonus

I bought 5 of these to use with various lights: some halogen lamps, a row of 6 GU10 LED spotlights, and a group of 4 wall mounted GU10s. Everything dims really nicely – better than some more expensive Varilight dimmers that I had available to test against, and without any flicker or buzzing. The minimum brightness goes much lower than the Varilight, and there’s a nice fade in/out when turning lights on/off. They can be toggled between leading and trailing edge dimming, though the default (trailing edge) worked perfectly for all the lights anyway.
Configuring the WiFi functionality is fairly straightforward and works well with the Smart Life app as well as a Home Assistant server.
One downside is the overall length of each dimmer means that putting two together lengthwise in a multi-gang back-box can be a pretty tight fit (I ended up having to shave a couple of mm of plastic off the end to get them to fit in mine), whereas other dimmers fit fine. Single gang and mounting side-to-side shouldn’t be a problem though.
The rotary axle is quite a bit shorter than those on the Varilights. In my case that worked out well with a very flush fit over the faceplate of the dial, but if you have a thicker faceplate then you might find they’re not long enough for the dial button to depress properly.
The casing and rotary axle are plastic and not as sturdy as other dimmers I’ve seen. I even managed to snap the axle off one of the dimmers, albeit my fault for trying to force it into a back-box that was too small and then screwing the faceplate on far too tight afterwards, without the dimmer having any wiggle room to relieve some of the strain. Still, I guess it might be possible to snap them off after a lot of normal daily use too – time will tell on that one I suppose.
I thought these might contain ESP8266 or ESP32 chips, but they’re using relatively a obscure RJM8L151 chip instead, which means they’re not easily modifiable with custom firmware in case that’s of interest to anyone.
Overall, it felt a bit of a gamble buying these with very little technical information listed on this website, but I’m really happy with how well they’ve worked out and will probably buy some more once they’re back in stock, they work well and are very good value for money.
I just moved to a new home and wanted it to be “Smart”. I bought these two dimmers and had them installed in my kitchen. It is so convenient to ask Alexa to turn them on/off and to brighten or dim them. When I learned that I could put them on a schedule, I ordered two more and use those for other rooms as well, now I have them turn on/off at a specified time each day. Definitely would recommend and buy more!
