The SM317 is a Zigbee-controlled foot-style cord dimmer that replaces the existing inline foot dimmer on a floor or table lamp. After installation you control the lamp manually with the foot dimmer or remotely via your Zigbee hub — schedules, automations, scenes, and voice control all work alongside the manual cord control.
The SM317 handles a power range of 10–100W at 220–240V. A minimum load of 10W is essential for the dimmer to function correctly — below this, you may experience ghosting, flicker, or unreliable on/off behaviour.
The SM317 is designed for LED Retrofit (dimmable), incandescent, and halogen bulbs. Smart bulbs and non-dimmable LEDs are not supported and may flicker, disconnect, or behave unpredictably.
The SM317 uses Zigbee 3.0 and is compatible with Amazon Echo Plus, Echo Studio, Echo Show 2nd Gen, Philips Hue, Samsung SmartThings, Samotech SM310 / Tuya gateways, deCONZ, and other Zigbee 3.0 hubs.

Both control floor and table lamps via Zigbee with the same 10–100W rating and bulb compatibility. The SM317 (81 × 32 mm, 41g) is foot-style, designed to be operated by stepping on it. The SM315 (97 × 25 × 40 mm, 40g) is button-style, designed to be operated by hand on the cord.

Build quality and electrical safety is bad. The unit makes a constant whining noise
Works brilliantly with Philips Hue. Despite saying needed min 10w (which is odd as most LED bulbs are less than 10w) it worked fine with a 6w filament style bulb.
Only reason for not five stars was opening it up to wire was nightmare. There are four screws hidden underneath sticky feet. Then removing the rotary/push button was very hard and needed a screwdriver to prize it off.
Once wired in though, paired straight away and works well. Highly recommend.
Suggestion to Samotech: Ship without feet stuck on and without main button attached.
There’s nothing else like it. Integrated very easily into my Hue set up. Easy control of a standard lamp with 5 halogen bulbs in, from the couch across the room. And a neat option for screen-free nights with a foot control right by the unit too. Very reliable in its first week.
